How They Transfer

• petrochemicals
• phthalates
• breast milk

We are inundated with petroleum derived products that we absorb, inhale and ingest daily. This can be seen in the lotions we use, exposure to off-gassing plastics, and in the pesticides that go into fertilizers for the foods we eat. Petrochemicals are stored in our fat cells. Our level of exposure is largely effected by diet and environmental conditions. When a mother breastfeeds her child, she transfers these harmful chemicals to her infant. During early development an infant's immune system is fragile and under developed. The infant is more susceptible to the consequences of petrochemicals and can become subject to learning disabilities, asthma, immune disorders, and cancer.
